Mold testing and air quality analysis
Overview

What this service is.

Pacific Northwest homes and mold are a familiar pairing. Persistent moisture, tight building envelopes, and poor ventilation create perfect conditions for hidden mold growth — particularly in crawlspaces, basements, attics, and behind walls.

Standard 3-sample mold testing includes one outdoor control sample (to establish baseline ambient mold levels) plus two indoor samples in the most likely problem areas — often the basement/crawlspace and a primary living area or suspect room.

Samples are sent to an accredited environmental lab. Results come back in 7-10 days, with species identification and spore counts. We translate those results into plain English: what's elevated, what's a concern, and what to do about it.

Common Questions

FAQ.

How accurate is air-sample testing?
Air sampling is the industry-standard method for assessing airborne mold spore levels and is considered scientifically reliable when performed correctly. It's not a substitute for visible inspection of moisture-damaged areas — we use it together with a visual inspection.
Why include an outdoor sample?
Outdoor air always contains some mold spores. The control sample tells us what's normal for the area, so we can compare indoor levels and identify true elevations.
What if you find elevated mold?
We'll explain what species was found, where it likely originated, and what type of professional remediation is appropriate. Mold testing is diagnostic — we don't do remediation ourselves.
How long until I have results?
Lab turnaround is typically 7-10 business days. We'll call as soon as results come in to walk you through them.
